New MacBooks Coming Soon? [Leak Reveals New MacBoo…
Leaked screenshots of retail warehouse inventory screens are always good for leaking stuff early and now a tipster has given BGR reports of the inventory system from small retailer MicroCenter. The inventory system shows new MacBooks coming this Tuesday, with the current ones getting a price drop.

The leaked shots show current MacBooks getting a price drop (with the Core 2 Duo 2.26Ghz model going down to the low-low price of $799) with four new Macs being mysteriously added to the inventory system. The new computers start at $1,799 and go up from there.
Unfortunately, the specs for these new monsters hasn’t been leaked yet. The good folks at MicroCenter aptly named the entries in the inventory system as “Apple System – Good”, “Apple System – Better” and “Apple System – Best”.
New MacBooks have been expected for a while – with many Mac fans eying Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors. While this doesn’t confirm that new MacBooks are coming next Tuesday – it does line up with another rumor.
Our man Chris reported on a tip that MacWorld Australia got – new MacBooks would be coming April 13th. I doubt that MacWorld Australia has any connection to MicroCenter (a regional electronics retailer in the American northeast), so these rumors pointing to the same date are probably completely unrelated. Break out your credit cards – new MacBooks seem very likely for this upcoming Tuesday.
Busy month for Apple, if it’s true. The iPad release, the iPhone OS 4 reveal and new Macbooks, all within the same two week window. Talk about staying in the news cycle.
Are you interested in a new MacBook? What does it have to have to get you to buy one?
